As a rule, office moves are staffed with higher numbers than a domestic removal due to the increased amount of disassembly and packing required, especially newer building where the lifts are often not big enough to take furniture in an assembled format. Higher staff numbers also reduce down time for the business which is in transit.
A site visit will always be required prior to planning the move to determine the time scale, packing requirements, specialized equipment etc. Detailed notes will be made during the site visit and third party services may be suggested or required during a removal. An example of this could be extremely heavy equipment or perhaps a moving a safe.We are equipped for small industrial moves as well. We also offer House removal and logistical services .

Up scaling or down sizing or just moving floors in the same building?
In a lot of cases our clients do not move from one building to another but just between floors or even just between offices. Although the furniture does not require to be loaded and moved offsite, it does in most cases ,still need to be packed and disassembled, especially if it moves between floors.
At Jacobs and Co our staff have dealt with ( and assembled) a wide range of office furniture, from desks, to filing cabinets.
Pc’s and printers can be packed and moved by our staff but moving networks , routers and other equipment may require an IT specialist.

Do you offer assembly services?
Yes, we offer both disassembly and reassembly of furniture. Ranging from:
- Beds ( Including Ottoman beds)

- Wardrobes
- Certain types of sofas
- Garden furniture and play frames
In addition we do all types of flat pack assembly.Â
Do you move pianos, and safes?
We have the ability and equipment to move both upright and Grand pianos. There is a range of factors to consider before moving a piano or any other heavy items, therefore a site visit will always be required prior to the removal.
Other hydraulic heavy equipment allows us to move exceptional heavy item such as safes, Granite objects, oak dressers etc.
Do you move the content of the fridge or freezer?
As a rule we don’t pack or move the content of the fridge or freezer as it is not covered by our insurance.
In special cases we will carry the content if advance notice has been given allowing us to bring freezer boxes and bags.Â
Should the client wish for us to carry the content of the fridge or freezer , the content should be packed in appropriate leak free containers and special care should be taken to avoid leakage which can stain or damage other items of furniture.
Food cannot be stored in any storage.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, we are a removalist specialist with all the appropriate insurance including:
- Vehicle insurance for hire and reward
- Employers and Public liability insurance
- Goods in transit insurance
Do you unplumb washing machines,dishwashers, fridges and freezers?
No, as a rule we do not unplumb or replumb white goods as it is not covered by insurance.
All white goods needs to be completely unplumbed and free from any electrical connection before removal.
This goes for any appliance that is connected directly to the mains without a plug.
Do you dispose of unwated furniture?
Yes we do. We are licensed carrier for household furniture and goods. Where possible we will always try to send the furniture to charity first before disposing of it.We cannot remove garden or building rubble.
Pleas note that certain items like fridges, freezers and mattresses may carry additional Waste station charges.These are fees charges by local councils. Charges per item may be levied depending on the council.
We will always go to the nearest waste station.
